September 2020's Unifying Theory of COVID Pathogenesis is in section III below.

Very little has changed on the risk front: The combination of colder weather, more indoor activity and pandemic fatigue continues. Some people are wearing masks effectively, some are using them as chin straps. Social distancing remains group and person dependent. California is the new poster child for the ineffectiveness of lockdowns unless they last for a very long time, i.e. many months. Humans are still very social creatures. Vaccinations are going smoothly in some locales and not so well in others. The elderly are getting in line for vaccination in droves.

There is more solid immunological evidence that children are mostly not at risk from SARS2. See #4 below.

Crowds, indoor environments, poor ventilation and TIME remain the recipe for a negative COVID19 outcome based on your personal risk.

Latest numbers google/CDC show that cases are on the way up again with peak daily case numbers nationally. California suffers the worst worldwide rates to date. North Carolina had a new peak on January 5th. Death rates still remain significantly less per infection than seen earlier in the pandemic which is a continued blessing but the volume of total cases is driving higher death numbers overall.

As it stands today, the United States has had 21 million cases and almost 354,000 deaths. The case fatality rate, CFR, from SARS2/COVID is 1.686%. Since the infection fatality rate encompasses the missed cases, of which their are likely 3 times more than the CFR, than the infection fatality rate for the United States is closer to 0.56%. This translates into a death for 5.6 out of every 1000 infected Americans. That number is 16.9 out of 1000 if we use the CFR. Not a trivial number.

Let us all pause here for a minute and have a moment of remembrance for all of these lost souls.

There is still no change in the knowledge that more than 80% of deaths are skewed toward the over 55 age group and 94% of all deaths occurred in a person with a co-morbid chronic health disease. More biological antibody medicines are on the horizon that may along with a mixture of vitamin A , D, zinc, quercetin and melatonin be employed for a safe resolution to COVID19.
