Crowds, indoor environments, poor ventilation and time are a recipe for a negative COVID19 outcome. In section II, I am going to look into an excellent and plausible article in The Atlantic magazine this week.

Latest numbers show that we are in a mixed bag situation. Cases are moving to the suburban and more rural areas that have seen little to no exposure. North Carolina peaked on July 23rd and has remained low in case volume prompting further lifting of state imposed restrictions. Enter phase 3.

No change in the knowledge that more than 80% of deaths are skewed toward the over 55 age group and 94% of all deaths occurred in a person with a co-morbid chronic health disease. As we have seen with the President's treatment, a mixture of medicines, vitamin D, zinc and melatonin are being employed for a safe resolution to COVID19. If you did not read the newsletter about an Integrative approach to health in the COVID era, read this link and this link.

The big question that remains is: what will happen this winter when we sequester indoors with reduced ventilation and more disease exposure potential? This is a very legitimate question that will be answered in time. As with the first newsletter on this topic, keep solace with the fact that there is a 99+% chance of survival for all of us.

100% of the voting responses stated that the newsletter content is relevant to the reader. That makes me feel very good considering the wide range of topics and the occasional massively deep dive into the science weeds. 92% of you all stated that you like the new look. While I will continue to improve upon it, it seems likely that this is the new format for the next decade.

A new Covid-19 Pedcast is available with DOCSMO at this link. Dr. Paul Smolen has been podcasting for 10 years and is widely listened to by pediatricians and parents. I had the privilege of joining him to discuss Covid-19. He asks, can a child look healthy, but be metabolically ill? Can Covid-19 be prevented? What can parents do to prevent Covid-19 in their children? What is integrative pediatrics, What is metabolic health, Why do some children get very sick with SARS-CoV-2 and others not?

I hope that you enjoy it.
